MODULE 1 - CREATE A 2D FLOOR PLAN

In Module 1, you’ll learn how to create and organize a professional 2D floor plan in SketchUp from the ground up. Designed specifically as a SketchUp course for interior designers, this module covers essential tools, surfaces, and edges while teaching three different methods for building floor plans: drawing from measurements, importing JPEG references, and importing CAD/DWG files. By the end of the module, you’ll confidently create clean, accurate floor plans ready for a professional interior design workflow.

MODULE 2 - CREATE A 2D SPATIAL PLAN

In Module 2, you’ll learn how to find and use 2D furniture symbols from the SketchUp 3D Warehouse, and even create your own custom symbols when needed. We’ll go room by room, covering essential spatial planning techniques used in real interior design projects. By the end of this module, you’ll confidently furnish the Eden Springs floor plan with professional 2D layouts that bring your design concept to life.

MODULE 3 - CREATE THE 3D FRAMEWORK

In Module 3, you’ll begin building the 3D structure of the house by creating walls and adding windows and doors to your design. You’ll also learn how to create arched openings and properly use models from the SketchUp 3D Warehouse. This module builds the foundation for the rest of the project, preparing your model for materials, furniture, styling, and realistic interior visualization.

MODULE 4 - WORKING WITH MATERIALS

In Module 4, you’ll learn how to apply textures and materials to surfaces in SketchUp to create polished, realistic interiors. We’ll cover how to scale and adjust materials correctly, where to find high-quality seamless textures, and even how to create your own custom seamless textures from scratch for professional interior design presentations.

MODULE 5 - 3D FURNISHING

In Module 5, you’ll learn how to create detailed interior elements such as baseboards, crown molding, and 3D wall panels, while applying paint and wallpaper finishes throughout the space. You’ll also explore how to import furniture from the SketchUp 3D Warehouse or your own library, and learn how to create custom cabinetry, including wardrobes, office storage units, and TV walls for a fully designed interior model.

MODULE 6 - FURNITURE TIME-LAPSE

Module 6 gives you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the design process behind our Eden Springs Home collection through detailed 3D modeling time-lapse videos. While creating custom furniture is optional, this module provides valuable techniques and inspiration for designing unique pieces that complement the wide range of models available in the SketchUp 3D Warehouse.

MODULE 7 - BATHROOM DESIGN

In Module 7, you’ll learn how to design a complete bathroom interior in SketchUp for the Eden Springs project. We’ll cover tile application techniques, integrating realistic 3D bathroom fixtures, and creating polished layouts for professional interior presentations. You’ll also gain access to my exclusive 3D Fixtures Collection, featuring over 75 SketchUp models to elevate your designs. Detailed dimensions and measurements are included in the accompanying E-Book. Note: Bathroom construction and technical specifications may require consultation with a certified contractor or specialist.

MODULE 8 - LAUNDRY ROOM DESIGN

In Module 8, we’ll design the Eden Springs laundry room together while exploring practical interior design solutions and functional space planning. You’ll learn how to create basic cabinetry, manage ventilation layouts, determine optimal clothes rod heights, and design a clean, organized laundry space in SketchUp. Note: Laundry room construction and cabinetry may require consultation with a certified cabinet maker or contractor before installation.

MODULE 9 - KITCHEN DESIGN

In Module 9, you’ll explore the fundamentals of kitchen design in SketchUp, from layout planning to appliance integration and functional space organization. You’ll learn standard kitchen dimensions and practical design principles used to create efficient, professional interior layouts. This module also includes an inspiring Eden Springs kitchen design time-lapse, giving you insight into the full creative process behind the space. Note: Kitchen cabinetry and construction may require consultation with a certified cabinet maker or contractor before installation.

MODULE 10 - SCENES, STYLES & VIDEO PRESENTATION

In Module 10, you’ll learn how to use SketchUp Scenes and Styles to create polished, professional interior design presentations. We’ll explore how to customize visual styles for both 3D views and 2D elevations, while giving you access to my curated Master Style Collection. You’ll also learn how to create presentation scenes and export high-quality JPG renderings and video walkthroughs that showcase your projects with clarity and professionalism.

MODULE 11 - DESIGN DOCUMENTATIONS WITH LAYOUT

In Module 11, you’ll learn how to create professional design documentation using SketchUp LayOut. We’ll cover scaled floor plans, spatial plans, 2D elevations, lighting plans, and General Power Outlet (GPO) layouts directly from your SketchUp models. This module will help you transform your interior design concepts into clear, detailed, and client-ready technical documents suitable for presentations and project execution.

MODULE 12 - INTERIOR DESIGN LIGHTING

In Module 12, you’ll explore the fundamentals of interior design lighting, including different lighting types, fixtures, and essential concepts such as Kelvin, Lumen, and Lux. I’ll guide you through practical lighting calculations to help you determine the correct lumen output and number of fixtures needed for a space. We’ll also cover the benefits of creating professional lighting plans in SketchUp LayOut before finishing the course with a final FAQ section.

HOW FAST CAN I LEARN SKETCHUP?

The learning speed varies from person to person, but the course is designed to help you learn SketchUp step-by-step without feeling overwhelmed.

With over 80 lessons and 13+ hours of training, most students can comfortably complete the course within 3–6 months while practicing alongside the lessons. Since you receive lifetime access, you can learn entirely at your own pace.

WHICH VERSION OF SKETCHUP IS THE COURSE BUILT UPON

The course was created using SketchUp Pro 2023 & 2024 on Mac, but the lessons are fully applicable to newer SketchUp Pro versions on both Mac and Windows.

For the best experience, I recommend using SketchUp Pro rather than SketchUp Go, since LayOut is an essential part of this course.

IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MAC AND THE PC SKETCHUP PRO VERSION?

There are some differences in the use of SketchUp Pro on Mac and Windows, although the basic functionality of the software is the same on both platforms. One of the main differences is the user interface. SketchUp Pro for Mac uses a typical Mac-style user interface, while SketchUp Pro for Windows uses a more standard Windows-style interface. This means that some menus and controls may be in different locations or have slightly different appearances, but the overall functionality is very similar. In terms of performance, SketchUp Pro should run similarly on both Mac and Windows systems, provided that the hardware meets the software's minimum requirements. Overall, while there are some differences in the use of SketchUp Pro on Mac and Windows, they are relatively minor and if you are fine with those slight adjustments (Some Settings may be at a different location), it should not impact your ability to start learning through our courses using either MAC or PC.

Throughout the SketchUp tutorials, you'll gain the knowledge to select your preferred unit for constructing your designs. Additionally, in SketchUp LayOut, all templates are thoughtfully supplied in both millimeters and inches, offering you the flexibility to choose according to your preference.

WILL I LEARN SKETCHUP LAYOUT?

Yes — Module 11 is fully dedicated to SketchUp LayOut training for interior design documentation.

You’ll learn how to create professional floor plans, spatial plans, elevations, lighting plans, and presentation sheets directly from your SketchUp models using LayOut. Templates and symbols are also included to help streamline your workflow.
