Laundry rooms are usually the most forgotten spaces in a home — but with a few intentional changes, they can become organized, calm, and genuinely enjoyable to use. Today, I’m sharing the makeover I created for my mum’s laundry room, where we transformed a small, cluttered space into a bright and functional part of the home.
To make the room easy to use, I designed three simple zones:
1. Main Cabinetry Zone
This is the storage hub of the laundry room. Tall cabinetry hides away detergents, tools, and household supplies so the space always looks clean and uncluttered. Soft, neutral finishes help the room feel brighter and more open.
2. Wash Zone
This is the practical area around the washing machine. I added open shelves for everyday essentials and hooks for small items that need to dry. Everything needed for washing is now within easy reach, making the daily routine much smoother.
3. Laundry Counter
A dedicated counter instantly changed how the room feels. It creates space for folding, organizing, and styling. A few thoughtful accessories — a tray, a basket, and a small vase — keep it functional but warm.
✨ The Result
This makeover wasn’t about a full renovation — just smart layout decisions and intentional styling. Now, the room feels calm, organized, and genuinely enjoyable for my mum to use.
If you’re planning your own laundry refresh, start by defining your zones. A little structure goes a long way.
